PAUL LANCASTER (England)
Paul Lancaster

Born and raised in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, 29yr old DJ and producer Paul Lancaster was first introduced to the sounds of acid house and techno by local pirate radio station Wear FM in the early 90s.

Inspired by the DJ mix tapes that he heard at school, Paul embraced the local rave scene and began honing his own mixing skills with the techno and breakbeat that he bought from Bass Generator Records and the deep house grooves from Trax Records in Newcastle.

Whilst studying at university in Leeds, Paul drew further influence from the diverse mixture of funky vocal house and US garage at club nights such as Up Yer Ronson, Back 2 Basics and Hard Times along with the techno and breakbeat of the Orbit and Warehouse. After a short spell DJing for university fashion shows and promoting his own small parties in the city, Paul returned to Newcastle with a new found confidence as a DJ and a burning desire to break through as a producer.

Over the next few years, Paul took his first tentative steps towards production, remixing a number of house classics for his own DJ use and his first full production in the form of debut single 'Bad Girl' that was signed to Climax Recordings in Newcastle.

Since then, a number of Paul's productions and remixes have appeared on labels such as Subversive Records, Red Ant, Sabotage Systems, CP Recordings, Perc Trax and Kitchenware Records, including his club mix of R&B / Pop group The Sirens which reached just outside the UK Top 40!

Paul regularly DJs in some of the best bars and clubs of Newcastle and throughout the North East and in recent years his music has even led to headline gigs in places as far off as South Korea, Washington DC, Sacramento, Rome, Malta, Hungary, Poland and Switzerland as well as guest DJ mixes for Metro FM, Galaxy and Proton Radio in the US.

With an eclectic mix of musical styles that he has dubbed 'Forward Thinking House, Tech-House & Breaks', Paul is equally at home playing warmup sets or headline DJ gigs with enough experience to enable him to adapt his music to suit any crowd and situation.

in March 2005, Paul established his own digital download label Fragile Recordings which has quickly gained support from DJs around the world and was featured in IDJ Magazine's 'Underground Britain' article as one of the UK's most exciting new labels. Watch this space!

DAN WELTON (Switzerland)
Dan Welton

Dan Welton was born in Switzerland in 1975. Growing up in an artists family, he was always involved with music and as a child he followed his dad to all his hippy gigs, TV shows and showcases. During his teenage years, Dan fell in love with electronic sounds, discovering the acid house phenomenon and listening to acts like Prodigy, The Shamen and Depeche Mode. The next step was then to buy his first DJ equipment and a whole bunch of tunes to start experimenting with the groove.

The first style he embraced was something between progressive and psychedelic trance but then, he became totally addicted to all kind of house music with his first trip to Ibiza in 1999 and never looked back. After some years of spinning Records as a DJ around Switzerland, Dan decided that it was the time for creating his own music and he began to make sexy, dirty deep tracks mixing his eclectic influences.

His first release on Dorigen Music called Higher Love (2004) received a huge support from the international scene. Since then, Dan has signed several other tracks and remixes to Adjust Recordings (his Lisopain tune even went to No 2 in the Beatport most downloaded tracks), Fragile Recordings (Murk played his Foot Therapy track during their Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1), Source of Gravity, Helvetica Recordingz and Twisted Frequency.

His productions have already been supported and/or charted by DJs including Layo & Bushwaka, Laurent Garnier, Satoshi Tomiie, Hernan Cattaneo, Ralph Falcon, Tony Thomas, Chris Cargo, Chris Salt, Anthony Pappa, Terry Francis, DJ Nukem, Dave Mothersole, Terry Francis, Pako & Frederik, David Lara, DJ Paulo, Red & Blue, Danny Graham, Kazell and received airplay on cool radio shows like BBC Radio 1, Ministry of Sound radio and Kiss FM to name but a few.

As a DJ he now plays his own individual blend of tribal, tech dirty-kinky house at some of his country's leading underground clubs and promotes his own clubnight SHOVE that is an awesome way to promote the sound and the DJs he is really into! With some serious solo and collaboration projects ongoing it seems that this is just the beginning for Dan Welton so stay tuned. For more info visit www.danwelton.com

TIM ANDRESEN (Denmark)
Tim Andresen

To say that Tim Andresen is one of Scandinavia's leading DJs is almost an understatement. Together with Steen Thøttrup he is Professional Losers - one of the most talked about new names in house music today, tipped by IDJ magazine as the next big Danish housers.

Following the critically acclaimed 'Crazy, Sexy, Hypnotic' and 'Night People' on Fatboy Slim's mighty Southern Fried imprint, Professional Losers were asked to remix dance music's biggest superstar himself under his Jesus Jackson moniker, and the track went straight in at #1 in the Buzz Chart. As Professional Losers and under his own name he's signed to record labels such as Southern Fried, Oven Ready, Wallop, Suesse, Strawberry Blonde, Fragile and Frosty Music gaining continuous support from the World's biggest DJs; Pete Tong, Fatboy Slim, Deep Dish, Hernan Cattaneo, Xpress-2, David Guetta, Anthony Pappa, MK & MTV, Seamus Haji and many many more.

No stranger to the clubbing scene, Tim Andresen has been DJing for nearly two decades. He has taken his music to more than 20 different countries and some of the finest clubs on the planet, playing for the Ministry Of Sound Tour, Pacha Ibiza, Redlight in Paris, Fabric and Turnmills in London to name just a few... London promoters Going Places describe him as "Denmark's finest export and a firm favorite across Europe".

When not jetting around the globe, his skills are in heavy demand back in Denmark. He's resident and the man responsible for the outstanding monthly Oven Ready parties, currently rated as one of the best club nights worldwide by the likes of Mark Knight, Martijn Ten Velden and Deepgroove. He also holds residencies at Culture Box, Rust and pretty much all the major Danish house clubs. His unique contribution to the Danish clubbing scene over the years has earned him no less than 10 nominations for best Danish DJ and for best club night in just 6 years. All this has led to having what is probably the biggest local following of any Danish house DJ - a leading national newspaper brands him the "Danish champion of packed out dance floors".

Tim Andresen has selected and mixed two major CD compilations. In 2003 Ministry Of Sound asked him to mix and compile volume 1 of the Ministry Sessions series for Scandinavia. He also mixed a compilation showcasing his own club night Flow back in the summer of 2001. To add to this he also put together a covermount CD for Zip Magazine in Central Asia, and has just been selected to mix the next compilation for Oven Ready in Autumn 2006.

As a DJ, producer, remixer, promoter and writer (Overseas Correspondent for UK's best dance magazine I-DJ), Tim Andresen has his fingers in many different pies. The Danish whirlwind's profile is about to explode even further, with several new tracks lined up for release under his own name as well as under the Professional Losers guise. The rest of 2006 will see his star constantly rising and is likely to be very big for Tim Andresen. For more info visit www.timandresen.com

ALI WELLS (England)
Ali Wells

Cambridge born and London based 29 year old, Ali Wells (aka Perc, Spartak and Votion) could be accused of being a musical obsessive, with a career that takes in spells in rock and indie bands, various DJing residencies, soundtrack work and his final destination as a producer of some of the most innovative yet accessible dance music currently in circulation.

After completing 5 years of music business and music production training in Manchester and Newcastle, Alistair spent a brief time at the now legendary Platipus Records cutting his teeth. The next stop was to UK heavyweights, Prime Distribution, where he quickly rose to label manager for their 6 in-house labels including the globally recognised techno of Primate and Primevil labels and the progressive/tribal Premier Sounds imprint.

Working with such a range of quality labels and deriving influences from the likes of Underground Resistance, Danny Tenaglia and drum & bass, Ali is original in his diversity while still being hugely dance floor friendly, a rare feat indeed.

Ali's unmistakeable percussion led sound was originally championed by James Holden who signed him to his own 'Easy Access' label and since his early releases and remixes on Easy Access and Silver Planet his music has found favour with DJs, producers and clubbers across the globe.

Ali's range of supporters is more diverse than many other producers with his releases getting glowing reactions from Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold, Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, King Unique, X-press 2, Moshic, Chris Fortier, Hybrid, John '00' Fleming, DJ Chus, Marco V, Tom Stephan, Bill Hamel, Max Graham, Saeed & Palash amongst others.

The list of labels he has graced continues to grow and now includes Choo-Choo, BXR, Premier Sounds, 19Box Japan, Limbo, Midset and Source Of Gravity.

In 2003 he released 'Life/Big Blue' on Mara’s Choo-Choo Records and started to put plans in place for his own Perc Traximprint, which has since grown into one of the UKs finest new tech-house labels with music from artists including Perc, Avus, James Holden, Good Livin, Man To Man and our very own Paul Lancaster.

INBETWEEN DJS / PAUL BUG (England)
Inbetween DJs Inbetween DJs are Paul Mcuinness / Paul Bugby / Dave Coates who were all born and brought up in the Liverpool Merseyside area. Paul Mcguinness was once half of the outfit formerly known as ‘Delayed Reactions' alongside Dave Coates (the third Inbetween Man) but they decided on a change of name because of their ever changing style of DJ set. Inbetween Men are mostly House based djs/producers who sometimes throw in anything from Tech-House, Breaks, to elements of Progressive with a thick helping of Tribalism to crack open any dance floor but always keeping the underground aspect.

Paul Mcguinness has been DJing for the total sum of 10 years collectively (and is now the tender age of 30) and has a massive range of influences spreading from early Disco, Electro, Hip Hop, Funk, Rave and the love of his life the huge ‘Acid House' movement of which you can hear in his choice of house cuts. Paul was heavily influenced by the sounds of ‘Cream in Liverpool' back in 94 - 96 hearing such DJs as Andrew Weatherall, Carl Cox and Paul Bleasdale and lapping up the future in Dance Music played by the masters, and soon after that deciding that was his dream also to be behind a pair of turntables and soon after in a studio. Dave started DJing out live in 98 alongside Paul Mcguinness. They started out putting on some small nights in Chester and Liverpool like the early kingsized parties in the City Bar Chester and the Obscure Funk nights in melo melo.

Like Paul McGuinness, Dave also has a massive range of influences again ranging from Disco, Hip Hop and funk. Dave's introduction to house came at a tender age of 10 when he started listening to early acid house tapes of his brother and his friends then throughout his teens dave was influenced by DJs such as Andrew Weatherall, Sasha, Billy Nasty and Justin Robertson. As soon as Dave started hearing these DJs live in clubs like the Hacienda, Basics and Cream he decided to get behind a pair of wheels of steel and like Paul Mcguinness soon after the studio.

All three Inbetween DJs have DJ'd throughout the UK mixing up their jackin beats and funky rhythms and are now being invited to play on an international scale in such places as far off as Chicago, New York, Detroit and this year Ibiza all because of their funky UK/US sounds that people just can't help but dance to.

They have a radio show on ‘Halton Fm' ‘Disfunktional Dance Show' twice a year (only a 28 day license) this is a local station in the Uk which Paul Mcguinness, Paul Bugby and Dave Coates) do for free of charge as a gift back to their community and to also help up and coming djs/producers from the Uk get into the underground side of house music) this show is now 4 years strong having had such guest mixes from Layo & Bushwacka, DJ Sneak, Tom Stephan, Miles Holloway and Greg Vickers with a whole host to come in October. It was through presenting this show that got Paul Mcguinness/Dave Coates a one hour mix on Piccadilly Key 103 in Manchester Uk on the ‘All Back To Our House Show' of which had such big name guests dj's as Erick Morillo, Sasha amongst others.. And regularly had a massive listening audience of around 50,000 people around the world.

Also they have a regular slots on www.djsourceradio.co.uk (check the website for details) playing some house flavors and future productions to a world wide audience over the internet along with also having a regular slot on www.vivacity.cz Prague radio.

Paul Bugby is a 23 year old DJ/Producer from Runcorn and has been making music for 12 years now and is a future star of studio/production. With numerous different sound honors to his name this guy really knows his way round a studio and has recently mastered the art of DJing. With his first tech-house tune 'Wake Up' released on Dirty Blue Records, and supported by DJs including Pete Tong, Lottie, Yousef and Sander Kleinenberg all over the globe this guy is rapidly starting to make a name for himself as one to watch in the coming months.

With other productions including 'Inbetween DJs - Animal Jazz Vol 1' on Wall Shaker Records (Detroit Aaron Carl's label) also there is a DJ Alena remix of 'Pass The Buzzard' (which has been licenced to DJ Dahota's (Chicago/Canada) new mix CD along with some new Inbetween DJs tracks - 'Toastie Beats Vol 1' which is due to get a release on their own up and coming label ‘Disco Revolt' in 2006.

The future looks bright for the ‘Inbetween DJs' so expect some crazy house cuts, from the scouse lads... and as they say - "We just love our music and DJing, we try to do this without being arrogant or ignorant and we give respect to people who give respect to us... and don't claim to be any form of demi gods".

ROB LE PITCH (Sweden)
Rob Le Pitch

Robert Lipic aka Rob Le Pitch was born just outside of Gothenburg, Sweden in 1977 and was introduced to the underground scene by Swedish Radio "P3 dans" in the mid 90s.

He started making music shortly after, but it's only in the last couple of years that he started to take it seriously and although his studio setup has changed over the years he still likes to use hardware synths as the main soundsource.

With his fantastic classic house anthem 'Dobar Tek' signed to Fragile, Rob Le Pitch is also set to release his quirky and funky track 'Twisted' on Aquasky's 'Passenger' label in 2006.

THE DIGITAL MONKEY (England)

Mickey C aka The Digital Monkey, was member of seminal London electropop outfit Naked Lunch in the early 80's, releasing tracks on the ground-breaking Some Bizarre albums alongside Depeche Mode, Soft Cell and The The.

Since then he has recorded for one-time record label Shindig with Chris Scott (Lexicon Avenue), helped set up Global Underground in 1994, and recorded and remixed for labels including Coded and Quad Communications, Full Circle, Global Underground, Push It Recordings, Testin Out and now Fragile Recordings.

MOHAWK (England)

Over the past few years, Newcastle-based production duo Mo Volans and Dan McKie (aka Openair), have been making a bit of a name for themselves with their peak-time electro house productions and remixes for labels including Oven Ready, Loaded, Angel Reef, System Recordings, Minimal and All Around The World and topping charts all over the place.

MoHawk is Mo's latest solo project, which sees him blending deeper, tribal and progressive elements into his trademark big room electro sound to devastating effect.
